7 Proven methods to attract new customers to your business (and retain them)

1. Be visible online

Just like parties, weddings and offices are places to make friends, the internet is the place to attract new customers.

Then why not build a strong presence online? Having a digital existence helps your audience in finding you and wins their trust.

Create and optimize your website, and social media profiles. Build a powerful presence online and connect with your audience.

2. Know your target audience

Answer this — Who is your product for? You’ll know who your target audience should be. If your product is for infants, then your target audience is their parents.

Now, research and understand their needs, pain points, problems. Create a customer persona describing every detail to know exactly who your audience is.

3. Employ innovative marketing strategies

Marketing your business is the best way to convey your brand message and start a conversation.

Build up strategies that’ll persuade your audience to connect with you and buy from you.

Leverage social media. Use techniques like meme and guerilla marketing to engage and interact with your audience.

4. Understand the customer needs

Understand what your target audience is looking for? Is it growth, success, safety, or convenience?

Once you know this, position your product in a way that provides for what they need.

For example, Johnson & Johnson, know the desires of their audience, i.e. parents always protect their children and want their safety. They use their need for safety to position their products.

5. Focus on problem-solving and quality delivery

A business that solves problems stays at the top. Why? Because people are always looking for solutions.

Come up with innovative strategies that provide solutions, and then wrap them up with quality services.

Remember, your customers are human beings. And humans never forget how you make them feel. So make them feel good by delivering quality services.

6. Keep an eye on your competitors

You’ve heard the saying, “Know thy enemy”? It means you should know your enemy from head to toe.

Now I’m not saying that your competitor is your enemy, but keeping an eye on what they’re doing sounds promising.

You should know their prices, strategies, and so on so that you can stay one step ahead and not lose your audience to them. You can even learn a lot from their mistakes & experiences and reform your strategies.

7. Network and establish effective communication

Networking and showing up is the best way to make some new friends as well as grow your business.

Show up at meet up events, conferences and discussions. Become a part of groups and start marketing your brand.

The same goes for social media as well. If you have an effective networking strategy then people will get to know and remember you. Communicate, engage, network, promote. It’s that simple.

As you have come this far, here’s a bonus tip for you!

Always follow up with your customers and ask them for referrals if they like your product and services. It will give you some more amazing leads to interact with.

On a final note

Remember your brand message at every point. Stick to it, keep talking about it, and connect with those who you think will be intrigued by it.

Now you know! You have unlocked the door to success for your business. Keep following these techniques and watch your brand grow.
